Meet the Senior Pastors
Pastors Gabriel and Jeanette Salguero
The Salgueros are the co-lead pastors of the multiethnic Lamb’s Church in NYC. The Lamb’s Church worships in three languages – English, Spanish, and Mandarin. They have ministered extensively in Europe, Latin America, and Africa. They have two beautiful sons, Jon-Gabriel and Seth, who are their pride and joy.
The Rev. Gabriel Salguero—President of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, Salguero is a powerful voice on issues that affect Latino communities in the United States. Focusing on poverty, immigration, and education, Salguero’s leadership of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NaLEC) offers an important voice for growing diversity and changing demographics in our country. Salguero has been named as one of the most prominent Latino evangelical leaders by the Huffington Post, the Center for American Progress, El Diario, and Jorge Ramos’ Al Punto. In addition to his work with the Circle of Protection – a consortium of faith groups that seek to preserve social programs that help the poor – and his strong calls for immigration reform, Salguero, through his organization, founded Nuestro Futuro, a Latino youth-targeted voter-mobilization campaign in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New York, and New Jersey in 2012. His writing is featured on both The Washington Post "On Faith," and the Huffington Post's Religion blogs. The National Latino Evangelical Coalition is also focused on the battle for a living wage and prison reform. Salguero also delivered an invocation at the inaugural prayer service at the National Cathedral.
Rev. Jeanette Salguero—Jeanette provides leadership with Urban Strategies’ efforts to promote national health and wellness initiatives that empower Hispanic communities. She works on projects with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to reduce mental health and health care access disparities in the Hispanic community. She also provides leadership in education, outreach, and communications to grassroots organizations including community- and faith-based organizations that assist underserved and underrepresented constituencies. Before joining Urban Strategies, Jeanette served as manager of insurance services for 9 years in the Reformed Church in America. In that role, Jeanette led efforts in developing, designing, and implementing insurance plans and wellness programs for clergy and laity for RCA churches around the nation. Jeanette has also served as a consultant for The Wesleyan Church on Hispanic congregational health and leadership. Jeanette has helped gather Hispanic women around issues of maternal health and wellness for the first 1,000 days of childhood in Latin America. Jeanette is a sought-after public speaker and has published articles on multi-ethnic leadership, hunger advocacy, and urban religiosity. Jeanette is recognized for her work on multi-ethnic outreach and Hispanic women’s leadership empowerment.
Jeanette earned bachelor of arts degrees in both business administration and Spanish literature and her graduate work is in management and leadership from the City University of New York. Jeanette is a graduate of Duke University’s Faith & Leadership Program.
